Nondegree Graduate Student Program
Nondegree graduate study is available at the discretion of each of the graduate programs. Enrollment is on a part-time, nonmatriculated basis.
Students registered for nondegree study are allowed to take up to 12 graduate credits* (varies by program). Once this nondegree credit limit is reached, students are encouraged to apply to the regular, degree-seeking program. Students who successfully complete courses under the nondegree program may receive as many as 12 graduate degree credits. To exercise this option, student must seek the credits within five years of taking the courses. In addition, they must apply and gain admission to a graduate degree program appropriate to the courses completed. Students must maintain a B average or better in their coursework.
A bachelor's degree and undergraduate transcripts are REQUIRED.
Letters of recommendation and GRE scores are NOT REQUIRED.
In the Online Schedule of Classes only courses designated as AVAILABLE FOR NM STUDENTS are available to nondegree students. Courses designated with nonmatriculated students need instructor or program director approval (NM STU NEED INST OR PROG DIR APPV) must obtain departmental approval. Courses with neither notation are NOT open to nondegree enrollment.
Nondegree enrollment (master's level only) is not available in all subject areas. Please see the Online Schedule of Classes.
